Udu Egwu

Udu egwu is an Igbo cultural Musical instrument.  This instrument is beaten with a pair of worn out slippers or a special foam or any other soft material made for it.  When beaten, udu produces a deep sound that makes the musical piece to have an outstanding base harmony.

The finals of the first edition of the Directorate of Sports Awka Diocese’s (DOSAD’s) sports competition for the priests has ended with the priests of Ekwulobia Catholic Region defeating their counterparts of Awka Catholic Region with a 2-1 win to lift the gold trophy.
This was even as the priests of Awka Catholic Region defeated their Ekwulobia Region to lift the gold trophy for the volleyball.
