DOSAD Holds Holiday Camp for U.13, U.15, U.17 and Female Footballers
DOSAD Sports is taking the advantage of the long school vacation to organize football camp and screening exercises for U.13, U.15, U.17 and female footballers this August at DOSAD football Academy Complex Enugwu-ukwu, Anambra State.

Speaking to Fides in his office at Okpuno, DOSAD Director Rev. Fr. Coach Obinna Dike said the management team has fixed August 2016 for the four-phase screening exercise and camping. He said the aim was to raise standard teams for those categories that would make Anambra State proud in football competitions.

Giving insight to the details of the camping exercise, Fr Dike said that apart from the female footballers who are of free age, the U.13, U.15 and U.17 camp must be boys all in school. This, he said is to ensure that talented boys get the best of schooling and sporting as well.

In the programme of the camping released, the camp for U.13 boys holds Monday, August 1 to Wednesday 3 . U.15 holds Thursday August 4 to Saturday 6 . U.17 holds Monday August 15 to Friday August 19, while the camps for female footballers hold Monday August 22 to Friday August 26, 2016. All the camps will hold at St. Anthony's Catholic Church Enugwu-Ukwu Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State which is the home of DOSAD Football Academy. A clinic for Physical Education Personnel and trainers from schools will hold Mon August 29 to Wednesday August 31, 2016. The details for the teachers sports Clinic will come up later.

To qualify for the screening for boys, each of the must come with an official letter from his school testifying his age and class, and an attestation letter from his priest or pastor as regards the authenticity of his age. The candidate is to present evidence of date of birth and photo of any size at the screening venue. For female footballers, what is needed is just evidence of date of birth and photo of any size. Accreditation starts at 8am on the first day of each set and ends at 11am same day. As the candidates involved are minors, it is absolutely important that their guardians, parents or teachers bring them along.
DOSAD will provide free accommodation for this camping exercise courtesy of St. Anthony's Catholic Church Enugwu- ukwu and Engr. Vincent Okeke, the Football Academy Grand Patron/Adviser. Candidates are however to take care of their feeding.

APRASA 2016 Football Competition Set to Kick Off - DOSAD Commends APRASA for the Initiative

Agulu Priests, Religious, Aspirants and Seminarians Association (APRASA) is organizing a football competition for the youths of catholic parishes in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State. It will last from 6th to 13th August 2016.

The letter made available to Fides has it that the venue for all the matches will be in St. Mary’s field at Nwagu Agulu and it is expected that each player has to be a registered member of the parish youth, mercenaries are not allowed. Again, the list of the players must be signed by the Parish Priest or the Parish Youth Chaplain.

Tuesday evenings are special at St Anthony Catholic Church Enugwu-ukwu and environs. As from half hour of three in the afternoon, there is a traffic build up. You can see them – young and old, tall and short, fat and thin, huge and pint, all alighting from their cars and lacing their boot and wears, heading to the football field and volleyball court. Among them are lawyers, lecturers, coaches, administrators, musicians, engineers, architects, name them. They are however bonded by two significant binding factors-Catholic Priesthood and Sports.
