As a step to the explanation of the full meaning of masquerades, here is a working definition of mask.
‘A mask is a covering for part or all of the face, worn to hide or protect it…’, ‘something that covers your face and has another face painted on it”. (Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary Ed. Sally Wehmeier, Oxford University press, 2000)

Further from make up or outward covering, some people define mask as the condition of covering one’s appearance, true feelings, a person’s real nature.

Meaning of “Ọfọ”.
Basically Ọfọ has two definitions. These are “Ọfọ as a tree and Ọfọ” as a symbol of Spirituality.

Culture is dynamic you would say. And culture, apart from being cultural and racial has the type of spices that make it add value to human race. Every group of people, from primitive to civilized, have their own ways of life. stressed further, every organized sect, religion and people, from nuclear family to ụmụnna, and from departments to societies are organized, the desiderata of the basic human life and activities in form of culture.
